Shaving cream art

We had some extra kids here yesterday and we did shaving cream art. It went from an educational activity to a messy one very fast. Thanks mostly to Ethan and Lainey!

Best Friends

I was picking up the house today and the kids asked if they could go outside and play. I went outside to check on them after a few minutes and this is what I saw.

Hailey had taken the bungee cords from the garage and hooked her 4-wheeler to Ethan's. She said it was because the battery had died on his and he still wanted to ride. She also added, "besides mom when I pull him he goes faster and he likes it so just leave us alone to be kids." I think that it is so cute to see them becoming such good friends.

Memories

Okay, so I saw this on my friend Becky's blog and I left a comment on hers and I thought that it was so fun!

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I (or Dan) have had together. It doesn't matter if you know us really well or just a little.. anything you remember!

2. Next, repost these instructions on your blog (if you have one) and see how many people leave a memory about you! If you leave a memory on mine, I will assume that you are playing and I will visit your blog and leave a memory for you also. I made it so that anyone can make a comment even if you do not have an account. Just post under the name/URL or as annonymous and leave your name in the post! It is way easy, give it a try! Have fun!

The Radio

My dad called me today and reminded me that it had been a while since I had posted any new pictures. We went to Rendezvous Days here in Pinedale last weekend and these photos were from those 2 days. It is a really fun weekend with lots of things to do. We were pretty impressed with how much we enjoyed it! This first picture is from "the radio" (Rodeo) as Hailey calls it. She was enjoying the rodeo a lot UNTIL they started doing the calf roping. She was so upset she cried for probably 20 minutes. She thought that they were really hurting those baby cows!

Ethan loved watching all of the events until his view was blocked by 3 old drunk ladies. When they sat down he kept trying to look over them and couldn't see anything. His solution was to go down to the fence so that no one could block his view. His favorite part was when they would herd they baby cows right in front of him.

One more tragic moment in Hailey's rodeo experience was when they let all of the kids out in the arena to chase cows with tags on their tales for a prize. She did not get anything and did not want to leave until she had what she wanted!

Our poor dog

So, we have been having this problem with Tiger taking little breaks form our property to go and visit the neighborhood houses. He is a great dog and this is the ONE thing that drives us crazy about him because WE CANNOT BREAK HIM of the habit. I always wonder what mischief he is getting into while he is there because he always brings us back mementos. A friend of ours sent us this story below and I think that maybe it is answer to the problem that we have been having with him. It really helped me to understand what he is probably up to!
An older, tired-looking dog wandered into my yard; I could tell from his
collar and well-fed belly that he had a home and was well taken care of.

He calmly came over to me, I gave him a few pats on his head; he then
followed me into my house, slowly walked down the hall, curled up in the
corner and fell asleep.

An hour later, he went to the door, and I let him out.

The next day he was back, greeted me in my yard, walked inside and
resumed
his spot in the hall and again slept for about an hour.

This continued off and on for several weeks.

Curious I pinned a note to his collar: 'I would like to find out who the
owner of this wonderful sweet dog is and ask if you are aware that
almost
every afternoon your dog comes to my house for a nap.'

The next day he arrived for his nap, with a different note pinned to his
collar:

'He lives in a home with 6 children, 2 under the age of 3 - he's trying
to
catch up on his sleep.

Can I come with him tomorrow?'

Hailey's first bike wreck!

The day has finally come that Hailey has crashed hard on her bike. I have been trying to take her out every day on our dirt roads so that she can learn how to ride better on her own. She is slowly learning what I call the "vital" skills, i.e. braking, keeping her balance, falling correctly ect. We have been practicing going down hills and braking and she has not really been catching on because the speed makes her frightened and she forgets about everything she has learned. On Monday night we went out riding for a while and she was insistent that she ride down the hill to our house by herself. She did okay until she had to turn while going downhill (a skill we haven't worked on yet!) The result was Hailey sticking both legs out to the side while screaming "I am going to crash". And she did. She flipped right over the handle bars and got road rash on her nose and a nice spilt open lip. Thank goodness she was wearing a helmet!
